17-year-old dies due to injuries resulting from Albany crash

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 17-year-old has died due to injuries resulting from a car crash on Thursday. The crash took place around 2:08 p.m. in the area of the City of Albany line on State Route 85. Prosecution rests case against Nauman Hussain

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Schoharie County District Attorney Susan Mallery rested her case against Nauman Hussain on the sixth day of the trial. The criminal trial of Nauman Hussain is now entering its second week. Hussain is charged with 20 counts of manslaughter and 20 counts of criminally negligent homicide. Following the final witness testimony, Lee Kindlon, Hussain's defense attorney, filed a motion to dismiss counts 1-40 on the indictment detailing charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. Kindlon argued to Judge Peter Lynch there was no way to know what would happen on the day of the crash. He continued to emphasize Mavis misled Hussain about service work and inspections done on the limo. The motion was denied by Judge Peter Lynch, who said there is legally sufficient evidence to establish manslaughter in the second degree. He has been in prison for more than 30 years for a murder that Gardner believes Dunn did not commit. Dunn was sentenced to life plus 90 years in prison in the 1990 murder of Recco Rogers. Explosions that rattled downtown Denver and kicked up smoke early Sunday came from sewer lines blowing off manhole covers, fire department officials said Monday.The explosions happened shortly before 3 a.m. near the intersection of 18th and Arapahoe streets.“We had manhole covers bursting. We saw smoke,” Denver Fire Department spokesman J.D.
