Bruno Joseph Cua, who was 18 at the time of the riot, was sentenced to a year and a day followed by three years of supervised release, much lower than the federal prosecution's request of more than 4.5 years, according to a sentencing memo filed in May. The now 21-year-old was found guilty of two felony charges earlier this year, including obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting, interfering with, intimidating, opposing or impeding officers. Politicians and pundits say parents are furious with schools. Polls say otherwise.

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 14:59:17 GMT

The polling company Gallup has been asking American parents the same question since 1999: Are you satisfied with your oldest child’s education? Every year through January 2020, between two-thirds and 80% said yes.The pandemic upended many things about American schooling, but not this long-standing trend. In Gallup’s most recent poll, conducted late last year, 80% of parents said they were somewhat or completely satisfied with their child’s school, which in most cases was a public school. This was actually a bit higher than in most years before the pandemic. WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Lindsey Horan is setting a feisty tone for the United States at the Women’s World Cup.Horan, the U.S. co-captain and a Golden native, steadied herself after an angry exchange with Dutch midfielder Danielle van de Donk and scored to give the United States a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Thursday.RELATED: April Heinrichs to fellow Colorado native, USWNT captain Lindsey Horan: “Embrace the experience”Frustrated by the Netherlands’ first half lead, Horan went from exasperation with van de Donk to elation for her tying goal in a span of just two minutes in the second half.“To come from a goal down and have that momentum shift in the second half was incredible. I think no one was happy with our first-half performance, letting them have the ball a little bit too much, but we changed things, and how we responded,” she said. The tie keeps the United States atop the Group E standings, in front of the Netherlands with a better goal difference, and in good posi...
