Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected U.S. calls for a humanitarian pause in the Israel-Hamas war, telling U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday “we are going full steam ahead,” unless the hostages held by Hamas are released.Blinken is on his third visit to Israel since the war erupted last month and is set to meet with leaders in Jordan on Saturday.Amid fears that the conflict will regionalize, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group, said in a public speech that his group was undeterred by U.S. warnings to stay out of the war. ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis native Max Diekneite is back in his hometown and now working nightside at Fox 2. He is a Clayton High School graduate of 2016 and a Mizzou alum. He spent three years as an anchor and reporter in both Savannah, Georgia and Des Moines, Iowa.“I love being back in St. Louis. I think we have the greatest city in America and being at Fox 2, it's a homecoming on two fronts. I love the people here. My parents are very happy; my mom is thrilled to have one of her kids home,” said Diekneite. He was an intern at FOX2 in 2016. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is mourning following the death of 22-year-old lion, Nala. The zoo said Nala was one of the oldest lions at the Kansas City Zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. FERGUSON, Mo. - One man died after an overnight crash in Ferguson during which his car went airborne, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday near Hereford Avenue and North Elizabeth Avenue. MSHP reports that Dario Graham, 20, has died in the crash. Next of kin has been notified. Series of failures? Family blames broken system for inmate’s death According to a MSHP crash report, Graham's car went airborne after he failed to yield a traffic stop. Investigators say his car began to slide after it landed, but he overcorrected. The car eventually went off the south side of the roadway, striking a traffic sign, tree, and part of a residence, per the crash report. Graham was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Jurors began deliberations Friday in the case of a Colorado police officer who prosecutors say is guilty of manslaughter after stopping Elijah McClain as he walked home from the store and then abandoning the 23-year-old Black man after putting him in a neck hold.Aurora Officer Nathan Woodyard is among three officers and two paramedics charged in the death of McClain after protests over the 2020 killing of George Floyd renewed interest in the case. An earthquake measuring 4.0 in magnitude rattled Ojai Friday afternoon - the latest in what must seem like a neverending series of quakes and aftershocks to impact the Ventura County city since August's magnitude 5.0 quake.Friday's temblor, which shook the ground at 1:12 p.m., was centered roughly five miles southeast of the Ventura County city at a depth of approximately six-and-a-half miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. LOS ANGELES - The mother of a 13-year-old girl who was attacked by a woman inside a Harbor City McDonald's is suing the suspect and the restaurant, her attorney announced on Friday.Video captured the incident on Sept. 6 when police say Ariana Lauifi, 32, punched and kicked Kassidy Jones in front of many witnesses and McDonald's staff near the order counter.Her attacker only stopped when a man she was with pulled her away, the video shows. Metrolink commuters will have to make alternate plans in late December, after the passenger rail service announced it would not be running trains for four consecutive days.Metrolink announced that trains will be out of service beginning Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29.The closure is necessary, Metrolink says, to allow for essential cleaning, repairs and upgrades along the rail network.
