With temperatures well into the 90s and hitting triple digits in some inland areas of Los Angeles County, health officials have extended several heat advisories.“Local temps in the hottest valleys could possibly reach around 107,” the National Weather Service said, adding that the high-pressure system over the region is forecast to keep the warm air mass in place through at least Thursday and likely Friday as well. A small business is devastated after a thief stole their work van and escaped with thousands of dollars worth of valuable tools.Video captures the brazen theft early Monday morning. The suspect was caught on camera stealing a van from Air One Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing, a family-owned business in Colton.The family is now struggling to work during their busiest season after being left without the necessary tools.“I’m hoping everyone will look at his picture and some good citizen will alert the authorities,” said Trina Lozano, whose family owns the business. “He has big stretchers on his ears. 139 people were arrested in a sweeping multi-agency crackdown on child sex abuse and child pornography this month, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Wednesday.The crackdown, dubbed Operation Online Guardian, involved over 100 agencies that comprise LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.“Child exploitation is one of the most horrendous crimes affecting our most vulnerable members of the community,” Joe McNally, Assistant U.S. Attorney General, said at a news conference Wednesday morning. “Through these crimes, predators target those who can’t protect themselves.”The operation unfolded in two phases.In the first, officers went undercover on social media to identify individuals who were trafficking child porn, LAPD said. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A San Francisco police officer shot and killed a suspect in the city's Bayview District on Wednesday, the San Francisco Police Department confirmed.The shooting happened in the area of Fairfax Avenue and Catalina Street.SFPD said plain-clothes officers were making an arrest when a second person approached them at about 2:53 p.m. The man was possibly armed, per police. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A woman was experiencing a mental health crisis when she took off her clothes, got out of her car, and fired a gun on the Bay Bridge during Tuesday's evening rush-hour, according to the California Highway Patrol. At first, confused drivers thought traffic had gridlocked on the bridge because of a crash. The woman's abandoned car was in the middle of Interstate-80's traffic lanes.Once drivers spotted the naked woman walking along the bridge with a knife and a gun, they realized the danger of the situation."For whatever reason, this woman exited her vehicle with this firearm. She began shooting rounds into the air. People (were) caught in this backup, not knowing what's ahead, thinking it's a crash (and) trying to go around.
